While one teacher said: "Seek, and
you will find. Ask, and you will be given. Knock,
and the door will be opened to you," here is Chuang-tzu
saying: "Seek, and you will not find." Why is this?
Because happiness ~ like peace-of-mind, Truth, Heaven,
Nirvana ~ is not a thing to be sought and found, but
must come to us, must find us. Indeed, our search
for happiness is productive of unhappiness.
