If
life really belonged to us, we could say: "I’m
not going to grow old, get sick, or die".
Well, we can say that; it’s easy, but
it happens to us anyway. And we cannot even
count on growing old; no-one knows his span
of days.
Once,
while working on a tall stool, I stepped backwards
to get down, but missed my footing and fell,
unable to control my fall. The back of my head
struck with a loud crack on the floor, and I
lay there, thinking I was dead. But then I opened
my eyes and …… wonderful! I was
still alive!
We don’t
have to try to die; it happens to us naturally,
and sometimes suddenly and without warning. |
